As an ordained minister, Joe is highly regarded for his leadership, spiritual integrity, ability to build community-based partnerships, and his creative mindset. In 2020, Joe was awarded Lancaster Theological Seminary’s Meck Award for Pastoral Excellence.

Joe’s ministry experience spans the roles of camp counselor, state park chaplain, solo minister of a small-town congregation, associate pastor of a large suburban congregation, and his current role as the lead pastor of Bausman Memorial UCC in southeastern Pennsylvania. Through these experiences and additional training, Joe has developed expertise in administrative management, change implementation, stewardship, evangelism, visioning, mission development, conflict resolution, and powerful conversations.

Beyond congregational ministry, Joe is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) trained coach and the Coaching Coordinator for the 500+ congregations of the Keystone Conference of the UCC. He also serves as a coach for the ELCA, the Center for Non-Profit Coaching, and individual clients. Joe’s coach approach facilitates growth and achievement in ways that enhance long-term success across a diversity of initiatives for individuals, teams, and groups. Skilled at connecting with a wide range of people, Joe readily draws out strengths, gets to the heart of the matter, identifies limiting beliefs, and expands thinking, while establishing the clarity needed for forward movement.

Joe lives in southeastern Pennsylvania with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys being a dad, biking, snowboarding, running, backpacking, gardening, and joining in fun games and great conversations.
